Welcome to Tara Lane Saddlery, your trusted marketplace for quality used saddles. Please review our sales policy to ensure a smooth and transparent consignment and purchasing process.Consignment Terms
A 20% consignment fee is applied to the final selling price and is deducted immediately upon receiving payment for the saddle.
Payments to the consignee are processed via two separate e-transfers due to monthly transfer limits or by cheque.
The final selling price may be lower than the original listing price if we negotiate with buyers. Seller confirmation is required before accepting any offers.
For online sales, any platform fees, listing costs, or transaction fees will be deducted from the final selling price before processing the consignment fee and payout.
Buying Process
All saddles are sold as-is, and we strive to provide accurate descriptions and images.
Returns or exchanges are not accepted, so please review all product details carefully before purchasing.
Buyers are responsible for all shipping costs, including any duties or taxes for international orders.
A trial period option is available for select saddles (if applicable). Please contact us for details.
Payment & Shipping
Payment must be made in full before shipping.
Tracking details will be provided once the saddle has been shipped.
We are not responsible for shipping delays or damages caused by the carrier.
Custom & Semi-Custom Orders
Custom items: Returns must be made within 7 days of receipt, with a 25% restocking fee. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Semi-custom items: Returns must be made within 14 days of receipt, with a 10% restocking fee. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
What is a Restocking Fee?
Restocking fees help cover unseen costs associated with returns. Small businesses incur various processing fees that are non-recoverable, and custom orders require stocking sizes and items that may not be readily saleable. Additionally:
Customer returns may result in items being unsellable at full price due to damage or repackaging needs.
Returned items take up inventory space and may require discounts to resell.
Processing returns requires labor and materials, increasing operational costs.
Restocking fees help mitigate financial loss from returned items that miss their prime selling period.
